Say Sushi in Maricopa offers a straightforward, full-service dining experience centered around Japanese and broader Asian cuisine. Situated just off John Wayne Parkway, it’s a cozy spot that has recently been refreshed with a cleaner, more modern interior, making it feel less like a small local joint and more like a balanced mix of casual comfort and updated style.

The atmosphere leans toward relaxed and unpretentious, making it a common choice for locals looking for reliable sushi or Asian fusion dishes in a comfortable setting. It tends to fill up quickly, especially with families or groups, so larger parties might find seating a bit limited during peak hours. The staff regularly receives positive mentions for being friendly and attentive, and they seem willing to accommodate special requests—even dishes not officially on the menu.

The menu thoughtfully balances sushi staples with appetizers and bowls that appeal to a variety of tastes. Favorites among regulars include crispy starters like the Monkey Balls and Calamari, as well as more unique items like Say Jalapeño and Lettuce Wraps for those seeking a bit of a spice kick or a lighter bite. The sushi rolls run the gamut from simple California Rolls to more adventurous choices such as the Insanity Roll and Bonzai Roll. For those who prefer cooked dishes, options like the Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Bowl or bibimbap offer a filling alternative.

Say Sushi works well for casual dinners, families, and those who appreciate a blend of traditional sushi and pan-Asian dishes in one place. Given its welcoming vibe and the care shown in the kitchen, it’s a comfortable stop for a weekday dinner or weekend outing alike. Early evening visits might be best to avoid the rush, especially if you’re dining with a group.

Expect the kind of atmosphere where you can settle in without feeling rushed, enjoy familiar Asian flavors, and perhaps discover a new favorite roll or appetizer through personalized service. While the space is small, the recent updates lend it a crispness that complements the fresh, thoughtfully prepared food coming from the kitchen.

We have been coming here for nearing 3 years, each time it's an enjoyable experience .The Food is delicious and flavorful. The staff is always friendly and prompt. But the topper for me, they recently remodeled their space. The atmosphere was always cozy and comfortable. But now, it's updated, cool and clean. Couldn't be happier with the new changes as it makes the place feel like a cool crisp cave in this desert heat. We got the gyoza for the appetizer. Then for sushi rolls we ordered the Yummy Yummy, Ninja, Baked Spicy Lobster and the 911 rolls.

Inside felt cozy & welcoming. I came in for take-out about 20 min before close & they were accomodating, staff was pleasant & personable. I ordered a firecracker, monkey balls, & baked Dynamite roll. The Firecracker was surprisingly bland.. like it needed a dipping sauce or something. The Monkey Balls were excellent! The crisp on the breading really sealed the deal.. I'll definitely be ordering those again. The Dynamite roll was a little disappointing compared to it's description & Dynamite rolls I've had elsewhere. It was still good, it just wasn't what I was expecting & what I had a craving for. It's something I might again, albeit with different expectations next time. I definitely still prefer Savage Sushi, but his menu is much more limited than here so it really depends on what you have a taste for.

I went here for the first time today with my mom. We ordered the coconut shrimp, gyoza, and a salmon teriyaki bowl. Technically, the salmon teriyaki bowl wasn’t on the menu, but the chef made it for me anyways which was super cool. I loved the chili sauce that came with the shrimp and it was so fresh. I will definitely be back to try more sushi.

Small restaurant and can be hard to get seating for larger parties, but have always had delicious food here. Say Jalapeño, Monkey Balls, and Calamari are our favorite appetizers, and the kids always get their Udon Soup. Their iced green tea is so good and refreshing.

This is becoming one of my favorite pick up dinner spots in Maricopa. I spend ~$20 for the Deluxe Dinner Bento Box, and I get all of this! Everything is super tasty, too. I upgrade to sushi in place of rice, and it’s worth it. I am someone who likes a little bit of everything and can never make up my mind with a menu, so a bento box is a great option (especially with this much variety). The friendly staff when I come in is also a bonus!
